Parking plan

Start at Greenwich Point Park (Tod's Point) — parking requires a Greenwich permit in summer. Alternatively, park downtown and reverse the order.

The Itinerary

  1. 1
    ~120 min

    Greenwich Point Park (Tod's Point)

A beautiful peninsula park with beach access, walking paths, and water views. Not as crowded as Sound Beach. Good for grandkids who want to explore as well as swim.

Grandparent tip: Non-resident parking is limited — arrive early or midweek. The paths around the point are flat and easy for grandparents who prefer to walk than sit.
  2. 2
10 min drive from Tod's Point
    ~30 min

    Downtown Greenwich ice cream

Greenwich Ave has several dessert options. Treat it as a palate cleanser between beach and museum — the walk down Greenwich Ave is part of the experience.

Grandparent tip: Parking on Greenwich Ave can be tight — try the municipal lot off Mason St.
  3. 3
5 min drive, easy parking on site
    ~60 min

    Bruce Museum

A small but well-curated natural history and fine arts museum. Good for 45–60 minutes — enough for younger grandkids without overwhelming. The rock and mineral collection is a perennial hit.

Grandparent tip: Check the rotating exhibition before going. The permanent collection is strong but small; an interesting special exhibit makes the visit feel fresh.
