Beardsley's Cider Mill & Orchard
Beardsley's Cider Mill & Orchard in Shelton has been pressing fresh apple cider since 1849 โ and the smell alone is worth the trip every fall. Grandkids love the apple picking, the farm animals, and the fresh-pressed cider and cider donuts that come out of the old stone mill. It's one of the most beloved autumn traditions in all of Fairfield County.

Budget & Insider Tips
- โข Weekday farm visits skip the weekend "agri-tourism" event surcharges that can double the admission price.
- โข Buying direct from the farm stand usually gets you twice the produce for the same price as a grocery store โ and you picked it yourself.
- โข Many farms have a free walking area separate from paid pick-your-own. You can still see animals and explore without paying to pick.
