Muscoot Farm in Somers is the summer anchor — free, open every day, with the kind of slow barn-and-animal morning that grandkids don't forget. For something more challenging and beautiful, Cranberry Lake Preserve in North White Plains runs 190 acres of trails with a lake and cliffs — the hike a 7-year-old will brag about to their parents. Along the river, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown have waterfront parks with views that are hard to explain and easy to love.
